Settling InDuring Orientation Week, each child will receive a Como Preschool booklet containing a photo story all about our centre to help familiarise them with Preschool.
You will also receive a blank photo book to put in some photos about your family so that we can talk with your child about people and things that are important to them. Parents are encouraged to help their child settle in during the first few days and take part in the activities provided. Some children may cry when you leave – this is quite natural. It usually lasts only a few minutes and parents are very welcome to phone us during the morning to check that they have settled. Our staff are very experienced in supporting each child to feel safe, secure and happy in their new environment. Children do not have a formal rest time in the afternoon but may rest if they need to. |
